To practise occupational therapy in Canada, you must register with and meet the requirements of the regulatory organization in the province in which you wish to work.

A Brief Guide on Registering to Practise Occupational Therapy in Canada

In Canada, there are 10 provinces and three territories. Each provincial regulatory organization sets its own registration requirements which may require you to:

Language Requirements: Provide evidence of fluency in English and/or French
Academic: Complete an academic assessment and / or a credential review
Currency: Meet practice currency requirements
Insurance: Hold liability insurance
Certification: Pass the National Occupational Therapy Certification Examination (except in Québec) offered by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists
Immigration: Establish immigration status or citizenship
