The occupational therapy profession in Canada is very diverse. There are job opportunities in a range of places, including hospitals and other health care facilities such as rehabilitation centres, private clinics and nursing homes. There are also jobs for occupational therapists in the work place, in schools, and community-based programs.

As a regulated health care profession in most of Canada, occupational therapists enjoy a great deal of autonomy and often work collaboratively with other health care professionals to assist clients meet their goals.

The type and number of job opportunities depend on the area in Canada in which you want to practise. For example, there are usually more available jobs in larger cities; however, occupational therapists are needed all over Canada, including small towns and rural communities.
