Working as an occupational therapist in Canada

Registration To practise occupational therapy in Canada, you must register with the regulatory organization in the province in which you wish to practise.

Each regulatory organization has its own registration requirements, including eligibility rules for working in Canada.
Preparation As part of the registration process, you may require academic upgrading and/or supervised practice. There are also optional programs to help you understand better how occupational therapy is practised in Canada and the Canadian health care system.
Entry to Work force In most provinces and territories, you can work with a provisional registration while you wait to complete requirements for full registration. Once you enter the work force, many employers have orientation and support programs to help you.
