If you are an internationally educated occupational therapist and want to practise in Canada, you must have a degree from a program that meets the standards set by the regulatory organization or government in the province where you want to practise.

Education requirements can vary by province. Degree programs that are recognized by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) may also be recognized by some regulatory organizations (see map). Visit the regulatory organization in the province you wish to practise in to learn more.

If you learn that your education in occupational therapy does not meet the academic standards in the province where you wish to practise, you may be able to enroll in a university program to upgrade your skills or practical experience.
